"Sidewalk Stories" - description of the work

I love the city. I've always loved it. Perhaps because I have always hated loneliness. The noise of silence sometimes makes me uneasy even if it happens to me in some moments to love it, silence. Especially if I'm immersed in nature. I know, it's a contradiction, but I'm like that. I love the city for its many facets. And above all for people crossing paths along sidewalks. Here ... this is something I really love; watching people while they are sitting in a cafe, chatting. Or while walking talking on a cell phone ... The people I most love to watch are the "barboni". I think they are extraordinary people. And then? The "madonnari". Incredible characters. In the past, but also in more recent times, I have always enjoyed sitting on the floor and watching these street artists. Sometimes grumpy, even aggressive. Sometimes expansive and talkative. It's nice to sit on the ground with them, because you realize you see the city from a different point of view. The perspective changes, not only intended as a view from below. You see many things, from a low point of view, that you normally miss while walking. Here ... with this work I tried to bring those sensations back to the canvas. Melancholy, even sad ... but sometimes even funny.
